Donating Materials to the Library

Lloydminster Public Library accepts donations of books and other materials. To make a donation, simply visit the Library. The Library is unable to pick up donations of materials.

BEFORE YOU DONATE....

We would be happy to accept:

  • Books that have been purchased within the past five years or classics that are in excellent condition
  • DVDs, videos and talking books

We are unable to accept the following items:

  • Any materials that are worn, torn, dusty, dirty, mouldy or in otherwise poor condition
  • Textbooks, encyclopedias and Readers Digest condensed books
  • Cassette tapes (unless they are talking books) or records
  • Magazines

Historical documents:

  • We accept local histories and published materials of significance to the region.
  • Unpublished materials such as diaries, pictures, maps, letters, minute books and official records of organizations are collected by the Lloydminster & District Archives. Although their offices are accessed through the Library space they are a separate organization.

Please check over each item to ensure they meet our donation requirements. When in doubt, give only what you would consider as good quality for your own use. Handling and disposing of unwanted materials costs the Library money.

Donations will be added to the general collection or sent to the semi-annual book sales.
